Starlink deals for new customers
1. The Starlink $100 referral reward (works everywhere the program runs)
If you're brand new to Starlink and order on starlink.com through a current customer's referral link, you get a $100 reward. Starlink's terms say the new customer's reward is applied on the second monthly bill. The person who referred you gets $100 too, once you've stayed subscribed for two full billing cycles. Starlink's referral page says both sides can take it as cash or as service credit. There's nothing to type at checkout, because the referral rides inside the link.
- Who qualifies: brand-new customers on Residential or Roam plans who order directly on starlink.com.
- Who doesn't: existing or returning customers, kits bought at a store or reseller, and transferred kits.
- Disclosure: I'm the referrer on this link, so I get a reward too.
2. Starlink Mini kit for $149 (typically $249)
On October 17, starlink.com listed the Mini kit at $149, with Roam service starting at $55/mo. Starlink calls this an "Activation Benefit" on new Mini kits bought on starlink.com in the US. If you don't activate within 7 days of delivery, Starlink may charge you the value of the discount. Stores were still listing the Mini around $249, so buy direct if you want this price. If you start from a referral link and switch to a Mini order, check at checkout before you pay.
3. No upfront hardware cost on Residential, in select areas
Starlink's Residential page says there's no upfront hardware cost in select areas. The only way to find out is to enter your address on starlink.com and click Order Now. If the kit shows $0 or a discount, your address qualifies. If it shows full price, it doesn't (yet). These offers move around, so it's worth checking again even if you saw full price last month.
4. Discounted monthly price for 6 or 12 months, in select areas
Starlink's Help Center says new customers in select areas can get discounted service pricing for a fixed period (it gives 6 or 12 months as examples) on Residential or Roam. You'll only see it at checkout if your address qualifies. It ends if you change plans, cancel or get suspended, and then the price goes back to normal.
5. Half-price local area discounts (Memphis, Vermilion Parish, Cameron County)
Starlink is taking 50% off the standard monthly Residential price at addresses inside three zones: the Memphis area (Tennessee/Mississippi), Vermilion Parish (Louisiana) and Cameron County (Texas). New customers there also pay no upfront hardware cost for Residential. The discount applies automatically based on your service address. If you live near one of those spots, check your address before you do anything else. If you also order through a referral link, check at checkout how the offers combine for your address.
6. Free professional installation on Residential 200 Mbps and Max
On October 17, Starlink's Residential page listed free professional home installation with the 200 Mbps plan (from $85/mo) and with Max (from $130/mo). The 100 Mbps plan (from $55/mo) is self-install.
7. Residential Max perk: a Mini kit to rent at no cost, plus cheaper Roam
Residential Max customers can claim an optional Starlink Mini kit with no monthly hardware rental cost, plus a lower rate on Roam plans, for as long as they keep Residential active. Starlink sends a "Claim Mini" email to eligible customers. It's a rental, not a free kit you keep, and you lose it if you cancel Residential.
8. The 30-day trial (the risk-free part)
Starlink says you can try it for 30 days and get a full refund if you're not satisfied. That isn't free service. You pay up front, and the refund is the safety net. Keep in mind that if you return the kit inside the trial, there's no referral reward, because the reward needs you to stay subscribed.

Is there a Starlink coupon code?
No. Starlink doesn't issue coupon codes, promo codes or discount codes, and I haven't seen a code box at checkout. Every real Starlink deal either shows up on starlink.com once you enter your address or comes through a customer's referral link. That's why the Starlink $100 referral reward is the deal most people can actually get. Sites listing "Starlink coupon codes" are either recycling someone's referral link or making the code up. More on that on my Starlink promo code page. The full referral rules are on my Starlink $100 referral reward page.
Starlink discounts for seniors, veterans and low-income households
I couldn't find a Starlink senior discount, veteran or military discount, or teacher or first-responder discount anywhere on starlink.com. Pricing is set by address, not by who you are. The real ways to pay less are the same for everyone: the $100 referral reward, whatever address-based offer shows up at checkout, and picking the plan you actually need (Residential 100 Mbps starts at $55/mo). More on my Starlink senior discount page.
For low-income households: the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended in 2024.
Starlink deals at Costco, Walmart and Best Buy
Starlink kits are sold at stores like Best Buy, Home Depot, Walmart's Starlink Store, Sam's Club and Tractor Supply, and sometimes a store runs its own bundle. Two things to know before you buy one:
- A store kit doesn't earn the $100 referral reward. The reward needs an order placed directly on starlink.com through the referral link.
- Costco: on October 17, 2026, Costco wasn't on Starlink's list of authorized US retailers (it's listed for Canada).
If a store price beats starlink.com by more than $100 after you count the referral reward, the store can win. Otherwise, ordering direct through a referral link usually comes out ahead.
Deals that are gone (so you don't chase them)
- The "free kit with a 12-month commitment" plan. Starlink's Help Center now says it's discontinued for new activations.
- The referral month of free service. Starlink replaced it with the $100 reward in October 2026. Pages still promising it are out of date.
- "Starlink coupon codes." These never existed in the first place.
Starlink deals FAQ
What are the best Starlink deals right now?
For most people in October 2026: the Starlink $100 referral reward (new customers who order on starlink.com through a referral link), the Starlink Mini kit at $149 on starlink.com, and no upfront hardware cost on Residential in select areas. Starlink's 30-day trial with a full refund covers the risk.
Is there a Starlink coupon code?
No. Starlink doesn't issue coupon, promo or discount codes. Real deals show up on starlink.com once you enter your address, or come through a customer's referral link, which gives new customers a $100 reward.
What Starlink deals are there for new customers?
New customers can get the $100 referral reward, any address-based offer shown at checkout ($0 hardware, a discounted monthly price for a fixed period, or a local 50% area discount), the $149 Mini kit price, and the 30-day trial.
Do Starlink deals work for existing customers?
Mostly not. The referral reward and the checkout promotions are for new customers. Existing customers can share their own referral link, and Residential Max customers may be offered a Mini kit rental at no cost with cheaper Roam.
When do I get the $100 referral reward?
Starlink's terms say the new customer's reward is applied on the second monthly bill. The referrer's reward comes after the new customer stays subscribed for two full billing cycles.
Does Starlink have a senior or veteran discount?
I couldn't find one on starlink.com. Pricing depends on your address, not your age or service history. The $100 referral reward and address-based offers are open to everyone who qualifies as a new customer.
Can I get the $100 reward if I buy Starlink at a store?
No. Kits bought at retail stores or resellers, and transferred kits, don't qualify. You need to order directly on starlink.com through the referral link.
Is there a free Starlink trial?
Starlink offers a 30-day trial. You pay up front, and if you're not satisfied you can get a full refund. Returning the kit means no referral reward.
